Implementing technology into the classroom will be able to enhance the communications between schools and families. This is a vital component in the development of students' learning as it provides a link between school and home, and benefits parents to have a greater understanding of what their children are learning.
Skype is a fantastic tool that will enable parents the flexibility to schedule appointments around a busy work/life schedule. Many parents in the past have been unable to attend important teacher/parent meetings due to prior commitments and a busy work schedule. Integrating Skype this year will allow you the flexibility to make appointments with teachers at any time that suits you.
A weekly Blog will also be maintained in this class so that parents are able to check what students are learning in Sose this year. Many teachers are using this form of communication specifically aimed at enhancing communications between parents and teachers, including the teachers of George Waters Middle School.
Remind101 is a safe and secure way for teachers to communicate with parents through text messages. This tool does not require the exhange of phone numbers and is completly free. Remind101 will be used this year so that parents are able to receive text messages updating them on upcoming tests, assignment due dates, parent/teacher conferences and any other relevant information.
